THE history of a town and its people is being told in an exhibition.
The Photos from the Past display, of pictures owned by Stockton Borough Council's archive, is at The Green Dragon Museum.
Images include Winston Churchill visiting workers at Haverton Hill in 1941 and crowds at the opening of Victoria Bridge in 1887.
Other photographs include live geese at Stockton market, crowds at the Old Cherry Fair in 1904, Oxbridge Lane School pupils playing stool ball and ice-skaters on a frozen River Tees in the 1890s.
Pictures of the building and opening of the Castle Theatre in 1909 - on the site of the Norman Stockton Castle, and where the Swallow Hotel now stands - are also featured.
Before entering the main photographic exhibition, visitors can view a smaller but fascinating display of facts and pictures, called Religion in Stockton.
The free exhibition runs until Saturday, March 19. The museum is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
