POLICE are appealing for help to trace the relatives of a man with North-East roots found dead at his Manchester home.
Michael Anthony Zimmetri's body was discovered at his home in Crumpsall, Manchester, on Wednesday, January 26.
A post-mortem revealed that he died of multiple injuries to the head and upper body.
Greater Manchester Police have so far been unable to trace the 59-year-old's next of kin, but they believe that he originates from County Durham.
He is thought to have been born in or near Durham City in 1945, and had spoken of attending schools in Ushaw Moor and Tudhoe, near Spennymoor.
His birth name is understood to be Michael Slowe, and he is thought to have married a lady called Mary in 1968, with whom he had two daughters, before the couple divorced in 1976.
From Spennymoor, Mr Zimmetri moved to Blackpool, then to Manchester.

l A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder and another man and three teenagers remain on police bail until April 11 pending further inquiries into Mr Zimmetri's death.
