TEENAGE twins Jonathan and Christopher Best will finally be parted this year, when they go to university.
The 17-year-old Durham brothers have been class-mates throughout their school lives. But with A-levels looming at Durham School the pair have been considering their future.
Having attended interviews in December, the brothers have received conditional offers of places at Oxbridge.
Jonathan's offer is to read medicine at Trinity College, Oxford, while Christopher has been invited to study law, at Robinson College, Cambridge.
Christopher said they were not daunted at the prospect of being parted. "I think we knew it was inevitable as we got older," he added.
Another Durham School pupil has Oxbridge in his sights. Robert Frater, of Hartlepool, has received an offer to read philosophy and modern languages at Queen's College, Oxford.
