APPLICATIONS for premises and personal liquor licences in Darlington must be made to the borough council, rather than magistrates.
Darlington Borough Council has published its new licensing policy.
The main areas considered under the changes are the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children.
The new legislation will also allow local residents to report concerns they may have, about a particular licensed premises, to the council.
