AN 18-year-old drink-driver crashed into a neighbour's car Bishop Auckland magistrates were told yesterday.
Kevin Chapman, from Wensleydale Square, Bishop Auckland, could not see out of the frozen windscreen of the Ford Escort estate when he hit a parked Mercedes.
He drove off in a panic and dumped his car outside his mother's home, intending to report the accident later.
A breath test reading showed 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 35.
Chapman, was banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay £400 for repairs to the Mercedes and a £75 fine.
He pleaded guilty to driving over the limit, failing to report an accident, driving without a licence and no insurance.
