MORE than 40 North Yorkshire County Council social services staff have gained nationally-recognised qualifications.
The staff, many of whom work with people in their homes, day centres or care homes, gained qualifications including the National Vocational Qualifications in Care.
The awards were presented by Councillor Michael Heseltine, county council vice- chairman, and Derek Law, corporate director of social services.
Coun Heseltine said: "I would like to congratuate the staff on their achievements."
"Their hard work has obviously paid off for them personally, but the real winners are the people of North Yorkshire for whom services will continue to improve due to the new skills they've acquired."
Mr Law added: "It is always a great pleasure to see the commitment of staff rewarded by their qualification achievements."
