FEARS about the impact a bungalow would have on a village green are being voiced by concerned residents opposing the development.
Residents, supported by the parish council, are protesting over plans to build the detached bungalow at the head of Roecliffe village green, near Boroughbridge.
The parish council has tabled an official objection to the planning application. The house would near the Woodlands home, in extensive gardens.
The parish council says the plot is too small to allow development of a second property and would be very visible.
A report to an area planning meeting of Harrogate Borough Council on Tuesday, says the main cause for concern is the impact of a drive to the new property passing close to woodlands.
County highway chiefs have recommended refusal on the basis the access would serve five homes.
Recommending refusal, planning officers say the access drive, parking and turning area are too close to the side wall and rear garden of Woodlands.
