MIDDLEHAM and Bowes will meet in the Medals final after sealing contrasting semi-final wins last Saturday.
Bowes clung on to beat holders Carperby 3-2 after a frantic finale in their contest. They took an early lead after some great skill from Wayne Thwaites, who flicked the ball over two defenders before slotting home.
Bowes went on to dominate the first half with Scott Walker and Rory Edwards missing chances and Edwards hitting the post, but Rovers levelled before the break when Steve Harrison bundled the ball over the line.
Carperby improved, but Bowes proved more clinical, with Edwards chipping the keeper and tapping in the third despite offside appeals. But John Pickard hit back immediately to set up a nail-biting final ten minutes.
Middleham had a more comfortable ride, beating Askrigg 4-0 at Carperby. They scored the only goal of a fairly even first half and proved too strong after the break, although the scoreline was harsh on United.
In the league, Richmond Mavericks A moved level on points with Middleham after a 6-2 win at home to Spennithorne.
Adam Dinsdale gave Spenny the lead against the run of play, but Mavericks took control with whizzkid Charlie Cox notching a hat-trick to take his tally to 13 in just three games.
Dinsdale added a second before half-time, but the Richmond side tied the game up before the hour mark. Scott Fenney and Ben Hodgson both scored brilliant free kicks and Ruben Bainbridge was also on target.
Leyburn also won 6-2, against Reeth, with 17-year-old Ian Rounce producing an outstanding individual display.
Rounce struck an incredible five goals, most of them brilliant individual efforts as he waltzed through the visiting defence. Peter Westwood struck United's sixth from just inside the area.
Richmond Buck beat Hawes B 4-1 despite falling behind early on. They clawed their way back into it before the break and completely outplayed their opponents in the second half.
Andrew Shipley, John Ramsey, John Bishton and Liam Waller were all on target for the Buck.
Micky White also tried his luck with a long-range free kick after his wonder strike the previous week, but it proved to be the easiest part of the day for the Hawes B keeper.
It was a bad day all round for Hawes with their first team slumping 5-1 against Colburn.
They also opened the scoring, through Brad Sleightholme, but Town hit back with a Mark Sage hat-trick and a Mark Jamieson brace.
