RISING visitor numbers have led to a call for more volunteers at the attraction built around the world's most famous vet.
More so-called meeters and greeters are needed at the World of James Herriot centre in Thirsk.
The council-owned attraction, in Kirkgate, is based in the building that housed the actual surgery and home featured in the books that later became a globally-successful TV show.
Anyone with a few hours to spare each month is being asked to join the team that works there.
