A HEALTH boss has given assurances that the emergency doctor service will continue in the eastern part of the county, despite the operation going into administration.
The chairman of the primary care trust covering Scarborough and Whitby is Colin Barnes.
He told the board: "The service is there now and will continue unchanged. Patient services remains our top priority."
Michael Whitworth, the chief executive said the Tees and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service had been contracted for call handling. He said: "There will be continuity of service and doctors who want to be involved with the service will do so."
