STAFF may be appointed to Richmondshire District Council to help the authority meet Government recycling targets.
Finance officers have recommended the appointment of a recycling officer, two drivers and four loaders to operate a new collection vehicle.
In a report to the resources committee, officers said the appointee would co-ordinate and promote the council's recycling drive.
The drivers and loaders would carry out kerbside collections of green waste and other material, including paper, cans and glass.
The council agreed in November last year that kerbside collections, which it is hoped can begin by April, were the key to meeting Government recycling targets.
