POLICE are becoming concerned for a mother and child who have not been seen for more than a week.
Donna Ford, 22, of Coppergate Court, Hebburn, and her two-year-old daughter were reported missing by a family member on Tuesday.
Police have spoken to all of Ms Ford's friends, associates and relatives that she is normally in regular contact with, and no one has seen her since Thursday, January 27.
Detective Inspector Ian Bentham said: "This behaviour is totally out of character for Donna and it's of particular concern because we think her little girl is with her and she hasn't been seen either.
"We just need to know she's okay. She can go to any police station with her little girl and proof of identity, and let us know they're both safe and well."
Ms Ford is 5ft 5in, of medium to large build, with dark, collar length hair. She is believed to have been wearing a red/blue thigh-length weatherproof jacket, trousers and white trainers.
Anyone with information is asked to call South Shields CID on 0191-454 7555 ext 65145.
