YOUNGSTERS at a Darlington nursery have been raising money for a children's charity.
The Just Learning nursery, in Newton Lane, was raising funds for Unicef, as part of the charity's Day for Change, an initiative focusing on nutrition problems in Ethiopia and Tajikistan, in Asia.
And in a twist to the usual non-uniform day format, nursery staff swapped uniforms for casual clothes, while the children were encouraged to dress up. Nursery manager Trish Clevedon said: "It is much more fun for the children to be able to wear uniforms and the staff to be in mufti (non-uniform) and I'm sure we'll raise a fair amount of money."
