KITE-FLYING lessons have been arranged for North-East children during the half-term holidays.
An exhibition of 40 kites will be unveiled at Redcar's Kirkleatham Museum by handyman Kelvin Woods.
He has also arranged sessions for children wanting to learn how to make kites and launch them.
The exhibition, Nature In The Sky, will open on Sunday at the museum.
Based on a circus theme, free activities have been organised by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council for the week-long holiday.
The first workshop, on Tuesday, February 15, will show how to make a sled kite and learn how to fly it. Youngsters should bring a large bin bag to make them.
On Wednesday, February 16, there will be craft sessions to make stretchy clowns - stretchy, bouncy paper clowns to hang on bedroom walls.
Mr Woods, from Brotton, east Cleveland, will return on Thursday, February 17, to show how to make mini kites in the shape of birds and butterflies.
There will be another session on Friday, February 18, to make circus acrobats -puppets with moving arms and legs.
All workshops will be from 10am to noon and from 1pm to 4pm.
Children must be accompanied by adults and materials will be provided.
