TALENTED youngsters from a drama workshop are preparing to take to the stage to highlight their skills.

Youngsters from Stockton will be performing children's favourite Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, at the Cleveland Theatre School, in Billingham.

As part of a programme to promote educational achievement, the children have been spending their weekends at the speaking and listening workshops.

Funded by the Parkfield and Mill Lane Neighbourhood Management (NM) Pathfinder, the local drama group, Parkfield Primary Players, have been working with the cast of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

Vikki Turner, a community worker funded by the Parkfield/Mill Lane NM programme and chairwoman of the players, said: "The experience for the drama group is very valuable as this sort of opportunity does not happen very often.

"The audience will be treated to a fantastic show."

The performances, on Wednesday and Thursday, start at 6.30pm.

Tickets are £2.50 each and are available at the door.
