A CHARITY is hoping a springtime break will help to raise money for vital respite care.
The Butterwick Hospice, Bishop Auckland, which provides day hospice, out-patient and in-patient care to people with life limiting-illnesses, is offering people the chance to enjoy a short break in the Mosselle and Rhine region of Germany, in April this year.
The visit will include a selection of excursions and sightseeing opportunities, such as guided walks and wine tasting.
Sylvia Stoneham, fundraiser for The Butterwick Hospice, said: "Our German Christmas market trip is so popular now that we have people waiting for a place and booking months in advance.
"Lots of people have said that they would love to visit the same area in the spring so we thought we would try to give it a go.
"This is a great way to support our fundraising efforts.
"Our recent visit to Germany in November raised more than £2,500."
The trip will depart on Tuesday, April 12, and return on Sunday, April 17.
Tickets are £200 per person and include bed, breakfast, four-course evening meal and all excursions.
Places are limited so people wishing to go are advised to book.
