A PERFORMANCE group which is being launched later this month will open the door to stardom for dozens of young people.
Melting Pot Arts, a County Durham-based performance company, is starting a group called Sing, for talented teenagers.
From Saturday, February 19, the group is open to any 13 to 18-year-old, who wants to get involved in singing, dancing and acting.
There will be no auditions and no musical experience is required. Members will be encouraged to learn about their voice, its capabilities, and how to get the most out of singing by exploring every style of music around the world from pop, rock and gospel to musical and classical.
Organisers will include movement and dance at the sessions and a disability officer will be available to discuss any special requirements.
Membership for the spring term is £10. A small fee must be paid before each fortnightly session. The group meets on Saturdays, from 2.30pm to 5pm, at Tudhoe Grange Lower School, Spennymoor.
