A TEESSIDE project which brings together war veterans and children to talk about war has received a £7,500 grant.
The Learning to Listen project in the borough of Stockton will now recruit up to 12 young people to meet veterans who live in the same community.
The idea is to teach youngsters about the impact of the Second World War and to become more involved in their community.
John Tierney, citizenship and democracy officer at Stockton Youth Service, said: "The project will enable young people and older veterans to work together to preserve, present and record for future generations."
