A PUB'S plans for an extension that would include 26 guest rooms have won the support of parish councillors - subject to conditions.
The Tawny Owl, on the edge of Hurworth, near Darlington, has applied to the borough council for permission for the extension.
The application was considered by Hurworth Parish Council on Tuesday night.
Councillor Alan Gibson recommended that the borough council should grant planning permission, as long as a footpath along part of Neasham Road near the pub was also provided. Councillor Ian Black also called for a speed limit of 30mph to be put in place near the pub.
The application will be considered by the borough council's planning committee.
