A LANDSCAPE painter prepared to suffer for his art will give a talk about his work as it goes on show at a North-East gallery on Saturday.
Robert Perry will discuss some of the battlefields and other landscapes that feature in his display at Durham's DLI Museum and Art Gallery.
Mr Perry likes to go "out in the field" to compose his paintings, and suffered chilblains on his hands while working in freezing conditions at night in a deserted First World War tunnel.
The collection chosen for the Durham display includes scenes at battlefields at the Somme and Ypres.
Saturday's talk at the DLI Museum, starts at 2pm, with tickets available, for £4, or £3 for concessions, £2.25 for children and £2 for season ticket holders. The charge also includes museum admission.
