Fifty members of Springs health club, Hartlepool, will test their fitness levels next Saturday when they tackle a strenuous all-day sponsored challenge in aid of the Asian tsunami appeal.
In groups of four, they will complete four 15-minute exercises on a treadmill, a rowing machine, a cross trainer, and a static bike.
All joining fees at every Springs club in the region during January are being donated to the relief fund.
North-East based Hays Travel has also contributed £7,200 to a travel industry appeal launched in response to the disaster.
