A play will recount the history of a huge storm that hit the region's coastline last century, causing scores of shipwrecks and untold deaths.
The Museum of Hartlepool and Cleveland Theatre Company have collaborated to produce a drama about this significant event in Teesside's past, called The Great Storm.
The play, which is taking place next week at the museum, follows the 1861 storm as witnessed by entrepreneur Ralph Ward Jackson.
The free performances take place on Wednesday and Thursday at the museum.
