WOULD-BE young actors will turn the clock back more than 2,000 years at a Durham museum tomorrow.
The Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology, on the banks of the River Wear, near Framwelgate Bridge, is holding an exhibition of ancient Greek ceramics, The Potters Tale, until April.
It is also holding a series of events to tie-in with the exhibition, the latest of which is a Greek drama workshop for children.
The two-hour session will be based on The Birds, which was written in 414 BC by the comedian and satirist Aristophanes.
Participants will be able to act the roles of Greek gods and ancient birds.
Durham University Museums curator Craig Barclay said: "This dramatic hands-on event is aimed at younger visitors aged between six and 13.
"We can promise an action-packed afternoon that combines activities with an opportunity to test your acting skills. Who knows, maybe we will discover the next Gwyneth Paltrow or Johnny Depp''
The workshop will be held between 12.30 and 2.30pm and costs £2, including the cost of materials.
