A THEATRE is hoping for another successful year, with the announcement of its spring programme.

The Georgian Theatre Royal, in Richmond, says it is catering for all tastes in coming months, through a miexture of comedy, drama, jazz, folk, dance, classical music, opera and even a drama festival.

Theatre spokesman Laura Hannaway said: "The theatre is going from strength to strength breaking targets and giving the people of Richmond and beyond some excellent productions and new educational projects.

"The spring season includes something for everyone, starting with two family favourites over half-term, Hey Diddle Diddle on Sunday, and the return PMA Productions, the company that wrote and produced Cinderella, showing The Wizard of Oz next Thursdayand Friday."

Local company Northern Broadsides will also be appearing at the theatre with three productions, including one-man show A One Night Stand, Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors and Sweet William - a comedy based on the playwright by the acclaimed author Alan Plater.

The Hull Truck Theatre Company will be performing the comedy Kissing Married Women.

Other productions include a play based on Edmund Kean called The Tragedian, by atheatre actor and manager Alister O'Loughlin.
