IT'S not just lovelorn humans that are looking for companionship on Valentine's Day.
Jessie the collie cross is also looking for someone special to become his soulmate and give him the home he deserves.
The two-year-old lives at the Blue Cross adoption centre, near Thirsk, and is described as an outgoing animal who loves walks in the park.
He is eager to please, friendly and intelligent.
Although he gets on with other dogs, he would be best as an only pet.
Centre manager Wendy Ellison said: "Jessie is looking for a long-term relationship with someone who has lots of time to devote to him.
"He won't mind if you already have children and will happily let you see other people.
"Jessie won't let you down and responds well to lots of affection.
"It would be sad for him to be lonely this Valentine's Day."
Anyone who thinks they can offer a home to Jessie, or other animals at the centre, should contact staff on (01845) 577759.
Alternatively, they can visit the centre at Parklands, in Station Road, Topcliffe.
