PLANS to redevelop one of Darlington's most prominent properties have been revealed.
Mandale Commercial Limited, of Stockton, has applied to Darlington Borough Council for planning permission to convert The Gatehouse, in Barmpton Lane, into 24 apartments.
The site was put up for sale towards the end of last year and attracted dozens of enquiries.
The Victorian building, in half an acre of grounds on the corner of Barmpton Lane and Whinfield Road, was most recently a nursing home, but has stood empty for the past two years.
Among its former occupiers was Arthur Feetham, a prominent local solicitor and one-time president of both Haughton cricket club and Darlington rugby club.
