A HEAVY metal musician on Teesside is to hold a charity concert in memory of his father.
Ken Turner will donate all the money from the gig to Cancer Research as a tribute to his father, also named Ken.
Mr Turner, 27, is lead guitarist of band Dawn of Chaos, and will stage a concert at The Studio, in Hartlepool, a year after the death of his father.
His dad was from Billingham and died aged 56, leaving his wife, Doreen.
He was a model railway enthusiast and worked for 35 years as an engine driver for British Rail. He went on to work as an engine driver at ICI before he died from cancer last year.
"My dad hated my music but was always supportive of playing the guitar," said Mr Turner, who lives in the Rift House area of Hartlepool.
Dawn of Chaos will be supported by bands Isaiah and Ergo Pipe and Mr Turner's mother and sister, Christine, will be there to offer their support.
The gig will be staged on Saturday, February 26. Tickets cost £2 and doors open at 7.30pm. Contact The Studio on (01429) 424440 to book.
