MORE medical equipment is to be brought to a hospital day unit thanks to a charity's fundraising efforts.
The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton has been presented with £2,500 following a fashion show held in Yarm.
'Celebration of Life After Cancer' aims to promote awareness of the help and support available to cancer patients, to raise money for local support groups, and to celebrate life after a cancer diagnosis.
Organiser Mary Lee said: "We are delighted our fundraising events give us the opportunity to help cancer patients, raise awareness of all types of cancer and help worthwhile causes at the same." Colorectal consultant Mr David Ward, who will be retiring in March after 15 years at the Friarage, said: "We are very grateful for this helping hand.
"We will put this to good use to buy a colonoscope - a diagnostic instrument - which helps to diagnose bowel cancer and will benefit future patients visiting our unit.
