AN independent school has raised more than £3,000 for a Sri Lankan school devastated by the Asian tsunami disaster.
Students and teachers from Polam Hall School, in Darlington, have completed a series of fund-raising events in aid of the Pahamuna Centre.
The whole school, from the Early Steps nursery to the sixth form, took part in activities to raise cash for the facility, which is in need of refurbishment. A treasure hunt, casual clothes day, fun run and karaoke competition were among the events staged.
The centre is housing, feeding and educating children orphaned as a result of the disaster
