Timmy Murphy made his first visit to Musselburgh pay off in double style on the Howard Johnson-trained, Graham Wylie-owned duo Galero and Credit at the Scottish course yesterday.
Galero (9-2) had opened his hurdling account at the second attempt at Catterick last time out and he stuck to his task gamely to hold the renewed challenge from Another Deckie by a neck in the Anderson Strathern Novices' Handicap Hurdle.
Wylie said: ''Anything he does hurdling is a bonus, he was bought to go chasing and we are looking forward to him going novice chasing next season.''
Johnson said: ''Timmy said the horse has a high cruising speed and jumps well but this ground was just fast enough for him. We may run him again if we can find another easy one.''
Credit (8-11) had a little more to spare in the Scottish Triumph Hurdle Trial, getting the better of Rehearsal to forge clear on the run-in.
Having been bought out of the Richard Hannon stable for 65,000gns at the Newmarket Autumn Sales, Credit had run with promise on his jumping debut when second to the useful Carte Diamond here this month.
''He is not in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival (the stable has Regal Setting and favourite Akilak in the race),'' Johnson said.
''We might look for another little race for him over hurdles but I think we will run him on the Flat too.''
There is just a possibility that he might run at Aintree as Wylie added: ''I think he prefers a Flat track and fast ground. His jumping was not brilliant but he had not schooled very well at home.''
Alan Swinbank's Far Pavilions (15-2) could be Cheltenham-bound, however, after winning the Scottish County Hurdle Trial in good style in the hands of Jim Crowley.
Far Pavilions is owned by David Abell, whose Star Rage won the County Hurdle at the Festival.
Swinbank said: ''He could go to Cheltenham but the Scottish Champion Hurdle could also be a possibility. He needed the run today and he will come on a lot for it.
Ebinzayd is one of three horses Lenny Lungo has in the County Hurdle but he is handy over fences too and he won the Anderson Strathern Challenge Trophy (Novices' Chase) under a good ride from conditional jockey Gary Berridge.
Lungo said of the 11-8 winner: ''We did not really want to come here because it was a three-miler and we have never considered that to be his trip. I think two-and-a-half miles is his ideal distance.
''But when the race was re-opened we had another look and we decided to come up and take a chance and it worked out.''
''Gary has been a good rider for a long time, it is just that a few winners have given him more confidence.''
