A CONFERENCE for young people interested in becoming sports club volunteers in County Durham is being held today.
It is taking place at Ferryhill Leisure Centre and is an opportunity for the volunteers to pick up some practical experience of issues they may face in their roles.
Up to 50 volunteers from Durham, Wear Valley, Teesdale, Easington and Sedgefield will be taking part in the conference before going on to work in roles linked to sports clubs.
Many of the young people will have been involved in such sports leadership awards such as the Junior Sports Leaders Awards (JSLA) and the Community Sports Leaders Awards (CSLA).
Durham Sport is working with the School Sport Coordinator programmes as part of the Step into Sport scheme. For more information about the event contact Liz Barton-Jones on 0191-301 8826.
