REVELLERS in Crook could have been witnesses to an assault in the town centre on Friday night say police.
An appeal has been made for witnesses to the incident on Friday, between 11pm and 11.10pm.
It is believed a man was assaulted in the bus stop near North Terrace and Church Street and some of his teeth were knocked out.
A spokesperson for Crook Police said: "We would like to hear from anyone, particularly three youths who were on the bus stand, who may have seen anything to come forward."
People travelling on the number 46 bus from Crook to Durham City may also be able to help with inquiries.
Witnesses are asked to contact PC Mick Rutherford at Crook Police on (01388) 762011.
