A COUNCIL is inviting its tenants to choose the interior design of their homes as part of a refurbishment programme.
Chester-le-Street District Council is hosting an open day, when potential contractors will be displaying kitchens and bathrooms.
The event will be staged at the Salvation Army Conference Hall, Chester-le-Street, from 9am to 7pm on Thursday February 24.
In addition to refurbishing works, contractors will be displaying equipment for the disabled, gas central heating, and electrical appliances.
Tenant Panel representative George Downey said: "By getting involved, tenants can make a real contribution by simply expressing their preferences on the refurbishment options on display."
A contractor for the work is due to be chosen this summer.
