A RESPITE centre for people with severe learning disabilities is appealing for help to create a sensory garden.
Staff at Aysgarth, in Stockton, are hoping to transform an inner courtyard for its patients.
Funding for the project is limited and staff are appealing for cash, advice and materials, such as garden tools, plants, garden benches and a water feature.
Nursing staff have drawn a construction plan of how the garden will look and it is hoped that the haven will give patients the chance to enjoy both sensory and relaxing surroundings.
The respite centre has space for up to 50 disabled adults and their families from across Teesside.
Eamonn McClurey, staff nurse, can be contacted on (01642) 391419.
