A PRE-SCHOOL is appealing for people to donate their old mobile phones to help raise money for a new play area.
Scorton Pre-School is taking part in the Fones 4 Schools recycling campaign. If they collect 200 old phones, they will be given a £300 reward. The phones will then be recycled.
Staff have teamed up with Gala Bingo, which is collecting phones on their behalf. Anybody who would like to donate their old handsets can drop them off at the Darlington branch.
Money raised will be put towards equipment for a new outdoor play area. Committee member Lesley Allen said: "It is a good way of saving the environment and making money for our pre-school."
