THE story of railway pioneer Timothy Hackworth has been transferred onto disc to sell at the national museum inspired by his legacy.
Bishop Auckland-based music producers Paul Thompson and David Hopkins have researched the life of the railway engineer, who put Shildon on the map, and have put his story on to CD for Locomotion: National Railway Museum, in Shildon, County Durham, which opened last year.
The two men have composed an assortment of classical music to accompany the narration of Hackworth's story.
The CD has been produced under their company name of Audio Sculpture.
Mr Hopkins said: "This was something we decided to do on the spur of the moment when we heard that the museum was going to open.
"We got together and composed the music and researched the life of Hackworth, writing a script around it.
"We were delighted when the museum said they were keen to stock it."
Gill Hamer, from the museum, said: "Locomotion is delighted to have the exclusive rights to the sale of this CD. It is an ideal gift to buy as a souvenir to play in the car on the way home."
