THE possibilities offered by the worlds of science and industry were laid out yesterday to hundreds of North Yorkshire youngsters.
Students from five secondary schools in Hambleton and Richmondshire took part in a science, technology, engineering and maths fair at the Hambleton Forum in Northallerton.
Local businesses held a number of workshops, with the aim of putting the subjects into an everyday industrial context, giving youngsters the chance to learn from adults other than teachers.
Among those taking part were the RAF, the police, Yorkshire Water, British Waterways and Mouchel Parkman.
North Yorkshire Business Enterprise advisor Tony Simons said: "The fair continues to be an ideal way of complementing, enriching and enhancing the teaching of science, technology, engineering and maths at Key Stage Three.
