AN ENTERPRISING student used his work experience placement to come up with a new product for a Teesside firm.
Darren O'Rourke, who is studying for a degree in design marketing, took part in a placement at Creative Glass & Mirrors Ltd in Stockton.
The 21-year-old, from Wilton village, used his skills to develop a range of mirror designs for the firm.
He produced a collection of organic-styled mirrors, which have now been manufactured and are on sale in the company showroom.
The experience has netted him the runners up prize for the Most Enterprising Student in an awards ceremony for the STEP scheme, a programme run to provide North-East students a placement with local firms.
