SWEDISH students have been busy preparing desserts in a college's catering department.
Five 17-year-olds from Scandinavia are on a month-long tour of the North of England as part of their catering qualification.
They spent a day at Darlington College of Technology, which is the lead partner for the North Yorkshire Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) within Catering and Hospitality.
This centre of excellence also includes Yorkshire Coast College in Scarborough, York College, and the Leeds-based Hotel Catering Training Company.
Darlington College catering tutor Donna Joyce said: "The Swedish visitors mixed well with staff and students and we all enjoyed bouncing ideas around.
"They spent their time making desserts, including a chocolate cointreau torte, which was then served as part of a smorgasbord buffet for invited VIP guests at the college in Scarborough."
