SCOUTS have taken part in a winter camping competition in the Durham Dales.
A dozen Scouts from Teesdale and Bishop Auckland took part in Camp Frosty, at White Kirkley, near Frosterley, in Weardale.
The camp involved an eight-mile hike, where scouts were judged on challenges on the route, with a team from 1st Barnard Castle Scout group coming out top.
Camp leader Gareth Jacobs, from 1st St Helens Auckland Scout group, said: "This year was the coldest it's been in several years, and we even had snow on the Saturday night and Sunday morning.
"However, there were no complaints, and the scouts all took it in good spirits.
"They all acquitted themselves extremely well and the competition was very close."
The winning team was presented with the Camp Frosty trophy and each member received a small prize.
