CHILDREN danced the night away to raise money for their school holidays.
More than 20 children aged between five and 14 took part in the two-hour performance yesterday. They hoped to raise about £250 to fund half-term activities on the Red Hall estate in Darlington.
They have been rehearsing for the show since before Christmas, and organisers were delighted with the way it went.
Play worker Sean Airey said the money raised would help to fund the children's Saturday club and games.
"All the children have been working really hard and have been so committed.
"It has saved us taking them places after school and on Saturdays, because they've loved doing this.
"With the money we raise we will be able to plan for lots more things."
A race night is planned as another way to raise money for the group.
It will be held at the Grey Horse pub on Friday, March 4, at 7pm, and will be followed by a football memorabilia auction.
