An angler died after falling into the sea at the weekend.
A second man, who jumped in to save him at Blyth, Northumberland, was treated in hospital after they both became trapped between a boat and the quayside wall on Saturday.
Northumbria Police said the victim, who has not been named, had been fishing when he fell. He was taken to Wansbeck District Hospital but died later.
