DARLINGTON Rotary Club is marking Rotary's centennial year with a visit to the town's mayor.
Club members will visit the town hall tomorrow to meet Councillor Roderick Francis.
The organisation is also celebrating the success of a training centre for visually-impaired people at Vane House, in Vane Terrace, which club members helped to raise funds for.
The centre opened last year, providing the latest technology for service users.
Alan Charlton, who has been a Rotary Club member since 1989, said: "The centre is going extremely well. The last figures that I saw showed 800 people were using the facility, which is tremendous. It's very educational, practical and useful for the users."
