DARLINGTON Borough Council has picked up four prizes this week.
The council scooped the honours at the PRide ceremony, which is organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
The council won awards for best newsletter, best in-house campaign, best public sector programme, and were also named as the in-house PR team of the year for the second year running.
Steve Jones, head of communications at the council, said: "These awards showcase the very best in public relations work, so we are delighted and honoured to have our work compared with the best."
Jan Hillary, chairwoman of CIPR North-East, said: "The awards are about raising industry standards and the judging process was tough. We're not just looking for wild claims of success."
