Thousands of workers at supermarket chain Tesco are to share £106m in payouts from share schemes.
Delivery drivers, stock controllers, general assistants and managers will receive up to £7,000 each.
Tesco said staff who invested in the five-year scheme had doubled their money because of the growth in the company's share price.
Staff can save between £5 and £50 a month in schemes lasting either three or five years.
Staff receiving money yesterday said they were spending it on holidays, cars or were planning their retirement.
