COUNTY council bosses are celebrating after being presented with a nationally-recognised training and development award.
North Yorkshire County Council has been presented with Investors in People status, a national quality kitemark which links the training and development of staff to the achievement of the organisation's goals and objectives.
The presentation was made to council leader John Weighell, chairman John Dennis, chief executive Jeremy Walker and representatives from each directorate, by David Harbourne, executive director of the Learning and Skills Council.
Councillor Weighell said: "Accreditation is a huge achievement for an organisation of this size, covering a diverse range of services in a geographically challenging rural county such as North Yorkshire.
"It is a significant milestone in our drive to improve performance and provide even better services to our communities."
