MORE help is being offered to young carers.
Leaflets and pamphlets have been designed to steer young carers towards the assistance they need.
The chairman of the county's carers strategy group, David Brown, said: "This information will prompt those people visiting the adults to consider the children in the family and refer them to the young carers groups.
"Children have a right to an assessment for services in their own right and our forms will help in the start of this process for many."
The average age of young carers referred to the North Yorkshire young carers groups is 12, with as many boys as girls
