A GROUP of US visitors laughed off the wintry weather during a visit to Durham City last week.
Durham Johnston Comprehensive played host to 15 visitors from Ithaca High School, in New York State, as part of a Transatlantic exchange scheme.
The visiting students, more used to home temperatures which plummeted to 20 degrees below freezing point, were left a little bemused by the traffic problems and school closures caused by last week's snow.
During their trip, the guests visited York, Edinburgh, Newcastle and London as well as spending time in Durham.
A return visit will see sixth form students from Durham Johnston visiting Ithaca, Canada and New York City, in October.
