Debtcred is a new initiative by the Association of High Sheriffs, which aims to teach teenagers how to look after their money as they prepare to start work.
Monetary experts gave talks at two Darlington schools and will visit several more in the town over the next two days.
Yesterday, there were two lectures at Hummersknott School and Language College and one at Polam Hall School.
Adults seeking advice on financial management can attend a talk at All Saints Church, Ravensdale Road, in Darlington, today, starting at 8pm.
