A TEAM of offenders has removed graffiti and grime from the windows and doors of Stanley bus station.
The probation service, in Consett, sent a group of offenders, supplied with powerful cleaning equipment, to the bus station.
They were all carrying out compulsory community punishment, which is unpaid, physically demanding work that allows offenders a means to "pay back" their crimes by making a contribution to local communities.
The Havannah Community Partnership is thinking of new tasks for the community punishment team and would welcome ideas at its regular meetings on the second Wednesday of eachy month, at 6pm, in the St Andrew's Resource Centre, Stanley.
